The colour range, and where each one belongs
Ten designs share an identical case, bezel, glass and movement. Use this as a shortcut to the colour that suits your room rather than the one that looks best on a screen.
Tiffany blue
The recognisable one
The colour most people identify instantly, and the one enthusiasts ask for by name. Pale enough to stay light on a dark wall, distinctive enough to be the only accent a room needs. Strongest against charcoal, walnut and warm greys.
Green
The confident classic
Deep and saturated rather than minty. Reads as a deliberate design choice, not a decorating accident. Excellent with brass, oak and dark green or cream walls — and the safest of the bold colours in a formal room.
Black
The one that always works
Highest contrast in the collection against a pale wall, and the only dial here that behaves like a graphic silhouette. Choose it if you want the clock to be legible from the far side of a large room.
Pink
The soft statement
Genuinely uncommon on a wall clock. Works where a room is otherwise neutral and needs one warm note — dressing rooms, bedrooms, salons and studios. Pairs better with brass and blush than with chrome.
Red
The energy
The most assertive dial we make. It needs space around it and a plain wall behind it; hung above a busy sideboard it competes. Best in kitchens, studios, games rooms and commercial interiors.
Yellow
The bright one
Reads as cheerful rather than luxurious, which is exactly why it works in rooms that take themselves less seriously. Very strong against white and pale grey; avoid it on a cream wall where it loses separation.
Blue floral
The detailed dial
A blue dial carrying a fine floral pattern rather than a plain surface. Rewards close viewing, so keep it to hallways, dressing rooms and desks — the detail is largely lost across a big open-plan space.
Green palm
The pattern piece
A green dial with a palm motif. Like the floral, it is a close-range design and the most decorative thing in the collection. Suits lounges, garden rooms and anywhere the décor is already leaning botanical.
Plain dials or motif dials?
The collection splits cleanly in two, and the split matters more than the colour itself.
- Plain lacquer-look dials — Tiffany, green, black, pink, red and yellow. A single flat colour with balanced markers. These are the ones that hold up at distance and behave like a piece of coloured metal on the wall.
- Motif dials — the Celebration, green palm and blue floral. Patterned surfaces with fine detail across the dial. They are the more interesting objects up close and the weaker ones from eight metres away.
The Celebration is the outlier worth calling out: a light blue dial carrying multicoloured circular details. It is the most playful clock we sell and the one most often bought as a gift.

Choosing a colour for your wall
Three practical checks stop most colour regrets before they happen.
Check 01
Look at the wall, not the room
A coloured dial competes with whatever is directly behind it. A busy wallpaper, a gallery of frames or a strongly coloured wall will fight a red or yellow dial. Plain walls let bold colours work; patterned walls suit black, Tiffany blue or green.
Check 02
Match the metal you own
Every clock here has a polished silver bezel. That is a real constraint worth knowing: if your room is all brass and warm gold hardware, a silver bezel will read as a deliberate contrast. If you want gold, look at the Datejust wall clocks, where gold and rose gold bezels are available.
Check 03
Decide your viewing distance
Under three metres, any dial in this collection works and the motif designs come alive. Beyond five metres, contrast is what keeps a clock readable — black, Tiffany blue and green hold up, while yellow and the patterned dials get approximate.
Where an Oyster Perpetual clock works best
This is an indoor decorative clock. Colour is what decides the room.
Kitchens & breakfast rooms
The best home for red, yellow and green. Hard surfaces and bright light suit saturated colour, and these are rooms you glance at rather than study.
Living rooms
Tiffany blue, green or black above a console or sideboard. Keep the bolder colours off the wall that faces a window, where glare across the glass flattens them.

Oyster Perpetual or another Rolex wall clock?
All of our watch-inspired collections share the same 35 cm steel-and-glass build and silent sweeping movement. The difference is dial character.
Datejust
The closest relative, and the one to choose if you want a fluted bezel, a date window and gold or rose gold options. Bezel-led rather than colour-led.
Explorer
Pared right back to a white or black dial. Choose Explorer if you want maximum legibility and no colour at all.
Yacht-Master
Nautical styling with two-tone bezels in blue, gold and rose gold, and an optional magnifying lens over the date window.
Daytona
Three sub-dials and an outer scale. Far busier, more technical, and the right answer if you want complexity rather than a single block of colour.
Mounting and care
Before you hang it
- Test the colour against the wall. Hold a coloured sheet or fabric swatch of roughly the same tone against the wall before ordering. Screens flatter saturated dials; walls rarely do.
- Give bold dials room. Red, yellow and pink need a plain wall and clear space either side. 35 cm wants about 55 cm of clear span, and a piece of furniture 60–100 cm wide beneath it.
- Keep pale dials off the window wall. Tempered glass reflects, and Tiffany blue, yellow and white lose their colour to glare at certain hours. Perpendicular walls avoid it.
- Hang it at 160 cm and into something solid. Centre of dial near standing eye level, fixed to a stud or a properly rated plug — not a picture hook in plasterboard.
Keeping it right
- Indoors only. Not water resistant. Bathrooms, unheated conservatories and covered outdoor walls will damage the movement and the finish, and are excluded from warranty cover.
- Fresh alkaline AA. A weak cell is the usual reason a sweeping movement runs unevenly. Battery leakage is not covered, so change cells before they run flat.
- Clean the glass only. A dry or barely damp microfibre cloth on the front. Never spray cleaner at the case and never open the clock to reach the dial.
- Colour and sunlight. As with any pigment, keep strongly coloured dials out of hours of direct sun to protect the finish.

Are these clocks made or endorsed by Rolex?
No. Clocks Atelier is an independent design studio and these are watch-inspired decorative wall clocks designed and sold by us. They are not manufactured, licensed, endorsed by or affiliated with Rolex SA or any watch manufacturer, and they are not watches or replicas of watches. Brand names describe the design language a clock refers to, nothing more.
How many colours are in the collection?
Ten designs. Six are plain single-colour dials — Tiffany blue, green, black, pink, red and yellow — and the rest carry patterned dials: the multicoloured Celebration, a green palm motif and a blue floral. Every one uses the same polished silver bezel.
What size are they?
All ten are 35 cm (13.8 in) in diameter. There is one size across the collection, which makes it straightforward to hang two or three colours together as a set. For a larger piece, see our large wall clocks.
Can I get a gold bezel on an Oyster Perpetual clock?
Not in this collection — every Oyster Perpetual design uses a polished silver bezel. If you want gold or rose gold, the Datejust collection offers both, and several Yacht-Master designs pair gold and rose gold with a coloured bezel.
Which colour is easiest to read from across a room?
Black, then Tiffany blue and green. Contrast between the dial and the markers is what governs legibility, not dial size. Yellow and the patterned dials look excellent within a few metres but become approximate at longer distances.
Are the movements silent?
Yes. Every clock uses a silent sweeping quartz movement, so the second hand glides continuously instead of stepping. There is no audible tick, which is why these suit bedrooms, nurseries and rooms used for calls or recording.
What warranty is included?
A 2-year warranty on the movement, covering manufacturing defects that affect normal timekeeping. It excludes batteries and battery leakage, broken glass, scratches, impact and drops, water exposure and outdoor use, and incorrect installation or unauthorised repair. How is the clock powered?
One AA battery. Batteries are not always included with shipment, so it is worth having a fresh alkaline AA ready when the clock arrives — a new cell also keeps the sweep smooth from the start.
Is the Celebration dial a good gift?
It is the one people choose most often as a gift. The light blue dial with multicoloured details is cheerful without being childish, the reference is recognisable to anyone who follows watches, and there is no sizing or fit to get wrong. For something personalised instead, see our custom clocks.
Can these go in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. They are indoor decorative clocks and are not water resistant. Humidity and condensation affect both the movement and the steel finish, and moisture damage is excluded from warranty cover.
Will the dial colour fade?
Under normal indoor conditions, no. As with any coloured finish, we would avoid a wall that takes hours of direct summer sun each day — both to protect the pigment and because glare on the glass makes the clock harder to read anyway.
